The Paris Biennale is ushering in the new season with its September rituals.
This year, it takes place once again under the magnificent glass ceilings of the Grand Palais. The eminent decorator, Vincent Darré, has been charged with its art direction.
Even though it has lost a bit of the glamor of yesteryear, it’s still an event not to miss.
The always top-notch Steinitz stand is among those well worth a stop.
Some of the most impressive items include a mid-16th-century Italianized painting by the Flemish painter Jan Matsys (or Massys)and an original bronze sculpture by the great artist Ossip Zadkine from the Parisian gallery Fleury.
The artists at this exhibition are museum-grade, running the gamut from the Impressionist Auguste Renoir (who would have recently turned 100 years old!), to Pierre Soulages, the Italian abstract painter Agostino Bonalumi, the Franco-American Pop artist Niki de Saint Phalle, and top-tier artists the likes of Jean Dubuffet, the founder of Art Brut, and even the great of greats, Pablo Picasso.

Don’t miss it!
